Choosing a Laptop
Unfortunately computing convenience can come at a price - as a general rule laptops are more expensive than equivalent desktop PC's and they are much less upgradeable so it's very important to be clear about which features you need before you buy. This is the single most common trap that people fall into - I’ve lost count of the amount of phone calls I’ve had from people wanting to know how they can upgrade so little Johnny can play his latest games on their low end laptop. The answer is that you can't. Some models allow modest upgrades and nearly all will let you upgrade things like the RAM but radical upgrades are impossible. You should not only think about what you need now, but what you will need in the future.
