Summary
As you can probably imagine there is a whole lot more that makes up your average PC but these are the main components that make all this computing power available to us. Noticable exceptions you may be wondering about are the sound and your computers internet. The reason I didn’t give these a specific mention is because in recent years the need for dedicated sound and internet hardware has been pretty much wiped out. This is because most modern motherboards can easily handle both of these things very efficiently!
The rate at which technology advances is astounding and each of the individual components are becoming more powerful almost on a monthy basis. In the future CPU’s with four or even eight ‘brains’ will become common place. PC’s with more than one graphics card are also common and we’ve had multiple hard drives for years.
But there is no need to worry because if it all gets too much, we still have the power to turn it all off.........for now!
